Collared Chambray

Every morning I wake up and check the weather to be told the high is in the 70s. Part of me is sad that I still have so many cold weather pieces to wear, but the other part of me is happy that I do not have to scrape ice off my windshield. I think the positives equal the negatives so it is a wash all together.

A business casual look will have to do for today. Maybe it will be cold soon so I can wear one of the coats, or capes that I added to my closet this previous fall. (Crossing my fingers!)

Top Knot(ch) Monday

The weekend always flies by, especially this weekend because it was jam packed with work and fun. I was able to visit my boyfriend and his sister in Santa Monica. We went to an English Pub, Ye Olde Kings Head, and spent Saturday night with friends, drinks, and darts. I realized I am not to bad of a dart player. Who would have thought?

If you are ever in Santa Monica you should check it out. There is a Bulldog Bar (I have a weakness for Bulldogs because of my family Bulli named Lexi) and there are pictures and paintings lining the walls with nothing but bulldogs!

Whenever I hang out with my boyfriends sister she inspires me to be more adventurous in my wardrobe. She is a stylist and is always working on the most amazing projects and with the most amazing people. Her outfits are always unique and she has the best eye when shopping. Very inspirational. While out on the town she wore a Top Knot and I decided to do the Top Knot with a added twist with a braid.

Striped Mullet Skirt

A windy day calls for a Mullet skirt so I can play Marilyn for a day. This new "Mullet" skirt (aka High-Low skirt) I bought about a week ago and I thought it was the perfect look for today. I also decided to turn the belt backwards to add a little interest to the back of the outfit.

Im hoping the wind dies down later, because I hate running and being beat up by the wind. Oh did I mention I'm training for another Half-Marathon this summer... and a Full-Marathon this fall! Im a little nervous about the Full because it will be 2x farther than I have ever run at once. I need to start running more religiously.

Sweet Potato Fries & Sriracha Mayo Dip

This Recipe I found on The Art of Doing STUFF, a Blog I'm obsessing over. I cannot wait to try this recipe. I had never tried sweet potato fries for the longest time, and once I did I was hooked. They are sooooooo good, and this Sriracha Dip sounds fabulous.

Red and Pink Stripes, Yikes!

Today was a lot of running around town, so thank goodness I threw on some comfy clothes. It was a little chilly in the morning, so I added a coat at first, but after a while the sweater alone was enough.

Pink and red are two of my favorite colors, so naturally this sweater had to be mine the moment I laid eyes on it.

Tonight I'm looking forward to taking it easy. I think an easy dinner and a good book and maybe a little time steaming some clothes will finish off a great night. Taxes are around the corner so I need to rest my brain before crunching a year of numbers!

Black Roses

The sun is out and the breeze is warm. Spring is in the air, and on my dress. Hump day is almost done and then the weekend will be here in the blink of an eye.

Wurstküche

Wurstküche--800 E 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

This past weekend my boyfriend and I ventured to Wurstküche, known as the "Purveyor of Exotic Grilled Sausages", in downtown L.A. After my boyfriend returned from a Europe trip over the summer he has been obsessed with German/Greek/Turkish food. Therefore, we have ventured to a variety of unique places around L.A. in pursuit of Authentic cuisine. I decided to post about this place because it was pretty amazing.

When we got there the line was out the door, but it was well worth the wait. Their large assortment of grilled sausages are delicious [Sun Dried Tomato & Mozzarella], bordering the weird [Buffalo, Beef & Pork with Chipotle Peppers] and tested the limits of what I was willing to try [Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeño Peppers]. And around 50 different types of German and Belgian Beers to wash it all down with. Yum.

The atmosphere is pretty amazing and I would highly recommend it, I am sure I will be re-visiting very soon.

Red, White and Leopard

After a few days of rain the sun decided to peek through the clouds. The weather man says tomorrow we are supposed to be back in the 80s, so I decided to take advantage of the cooler weather today in this outfit.

I am thinking somewhat of a daily outfit will become more of a normal posting. Let me know what you think, should it become routine?

Manic Monday

Asymmetric Studio Dress--Zara

Today has been a little crazy.

First, it is raining in Los Angeles so that automatically means car accidents and traffic because truly no one in Southern California knows how to drive when there is any amount of precipitation (myself included).

Second, my youngest sister had a mission to find a Winter Ball dress for the dance in two weeks. After much torture looking at dresses that had less fabric than a bathing suit she finally landed a cute and sophisticated dress that will wow her friends.

With evening wear on my brain after a day filled with ball gowns and sparkly heels, I decided to look at what Zara had to offer. I try to peek into Zara whenever I am in Los Angeles visiting (unfortunately it is the closest flagship location to me), and I have to remind to keep my mouth shut and not to drool over all the amazing, affordable clothing. On their website I toured their Evening Lookbook and I was not disappointed.

On My Nightstand

On My Nightstand-Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin

Ever since I was a little girl, my mom has told me stories about how I would bring her book after book to read to me. This love has never ended, and now my stack of books to read gets taller by the day and my nightstand is always accompanied by the latest novel that has captivated my interest.

No Sun Sunday

Max & Mia Ponch, Gap Jeans, Tiffany & Co. Ring & Necklace, Bulova Watch

Today is cold and sunless, making me want to stay inside and cozy up on the couch. The Max and Mia knitted poncho makes the perfect outfit for laying around all day.

I do not have very many days of just laying around and being lazy, so I plan to soak it up. Nothing big planned except maybe to squeeze in a workout later. Happy No Sun Sunday!

On my budget, Gap has become my favorite store for good fitting and relatively inexpensive jeans, along with cute tops, jackets and accessories. Here are some of my favorite upcoming looks:

"Sexy Lexi" and I

Friday afternoon is finally here! What could be better than a welcome home kiss from my English Bulldog Lexi. When she was a puppy, my dad nicknamed her "Sexy Lexi" and it has stuck ever since.

I have decided to post some outfits every now and then, that way I can express my personal style and show my day to day looks. Here is Outfit Post #1.

Burberry

Spring 2012 Burberry collection provides reminiscent 1940s hem lines and spotlighting the Parka in place of the usual trench. Im obsessing over the fun flowing skirts and plan to introduce some less expensive versions into my wardrobe this Spring.

Dark Wedding

I stumbled upon Vera Wang's Fall 2011 Witchcraft Bridal Collection today...

Spring came early

In Los Angeles, Winter has decided to let Spring take over in January. All this warm weather has Spring fashion on the mind and I am realizing it may be time to pack away my winter wardrobe already.

Spring brings to mind flirty colors and mid-rif bearing styles that emerge after months of dark cover-ups. This Spring 2012, I am excited because of the unique trends we saw during fashion week this last Fall. Everything from Peplums to Pastels having me in search for great items to build my wardrobe for the coming months of sun.

Pantone is one of my favorite websites because of their fashion trending on colors each season. They have yet to disappoint!

I have my eye out for a Tangerine Tango Blouse and a Cabaret Skirt this season... maybe I can wear both at the same time :)
